Windy Engagement Shoot at Bakoven Beach, Cape Town

Although Cape Town is not known as ‘The Windy City’, it’s definitely up there. The few years I spent living in the city proved this to me multiple times (pro tip: don’t move into a loft room in Vredehoek or Tamboerskloof, unless you like howling wind as “white noise”— I clearly do).

So for Cher & Grant’s engagement shoot, we planned a beautiful sunset setting at Bakoven beach on their trip down from Joburg, only problem was the wind… but did we let it stop us — no sir!

From our first video call, through to meeting up with them at Fab & Co in Parkhurst to their engagement shoot, getting to know Cher & Grant has been the biggest joy. They are extremely kind and thoughtful and the way they look at each other is mesmerising! This is a couple that is madly in love, even after years of dating with some long-distance thrown in as well.

This is the kind of love that lasts, a love that honours & respects, and chooses one another amidst chaos and challenges.

These two will be tying the knot later this year and if this is what we could create in the craziest wind-swept shoot experience I’ve ever had, then man oh man we are in for a treat!

Press play on their slideshow below to experience all the love and keep on scrolling for more of my favourite moments from their shoot, frozen in time.
